The domain is a name of your site that you type in the browser's address bar. See the example:

http://www.yahoo.com/info/about.htm
http://mail.yahoo.com

Here:
com - top level domain name
yahoo.com - is the name of the site and yahoo.com is the domain name
mail.yahoo.com -the domain name too

In other words, domain name is the all that typed before "/". In the example above "/info/about.htm" is a web page address, not a domain name.
