The main advantage of CJ's affiliate program is that you get your earnings from all advertisers with one combined payment. It is very convenient. When you deal with the independent advertisers you get many checks for small amounts, say for $50, separately.

By the way, the participating in the affiliate programs is extremely profitable for the sites with good audience. For example, if you site is about Internet marketing, you can join this affiliate program and earn 30% on each sale. The advertisers says that the average order is more then $100. So you have about $30+ on each sale. It is usually more profitable then using any pay-per-click system.

Adult sites usually offer affiliate programs with rebilling. It means that you get your commission not only for the first sale, but for all other sales made by that customer. Taking into account that the average lifetime of a customer in adult business is 8 months, you earn money during that period.
